Among the many One Spark Creators displaying at #EdSpark – the curated education themed venue in the Wells Fargo Building – there are several that stand out. One of these projects is Cognitive Clubhouse. Cognitive Clubhouse is unique for several reasons.

Cognitive Clubhouse

The main element that makes Cognitive Clubhouse stand out is the depth and the goal of the idea. According to the Cognitive Clubhouse One Spark Creator Profile:

Cognitive Clubhouse will serve as a hub for critical and creative thinking. It will be the site of a variety of student centered programs and exhibits ranging from science, (Big Bang Science), history (Lunch with Legends), art, engineering, innovation, entrepreneurial education, gaming and coding. It will be a site for the best possible teacher educational and professional development attracting the most ground breaking educators and change agents offering TED-style presentations and interactive workshops. Cognitive Clubhouse will also feature the only all-ages science playground in north Florida with interactive elements demonstrating a variety of scientific concepts including balance, motion, sound, optics, and simple machines.1

This has the chance to completely re-vamp the entire educational system in Jacksonville, FL:

While there are a number of companies and organizations that offer on-site, afterschool enrichment, Jacksonville’s downtown could largely benefit from a venue that offers a wide variety of educational amusement. By offering a state-of-the-art outdoor science playground, in addition to a variety of workshops, stage presentations, and professional development opportunities, Cognitive Clubhouse could provide Jacksonville with an incredible identity- – as the epicenter of critical and creative thinking!2

We are looking forward to checking out Cognitive Clubhouse, and all of the #EdSpark creators.
